Tuesday night saw us welcome London Lions to The Lane in a SSML league fixture. We started really strong and it felt like our opponents could not get out of their half for the first 10 minutes, concerted pressure ended up with a well worked passing move saw Reece Mosanya put in Ibs Kehinde to tuck the ball away from five yards out, 2 Goals in 2 games for Ibs now. 10 mins 1-0. We continued to apply pressure but could not find that second goal despite both Reece and Josh terrorising their defenders with their pass and footwork. London Lions were very determined and started to pass the ball around better as the half wore on, half time 45 mins 1-0.
Second half saw our opponents start much better and have plenty of the ball but were mostly shooting from 25 yards out. We looked sharp on the break with Reece Mosanya looking every dangerous every time he was on the ball and just failed on a few occasions with that final pass or shot. On the 60th minute a clever ball into our six yard box bounced around a bit before a Lions player poked it home, probably well deserved. 60 mins 1-1.
Our visitors had plenty of the ball after the goal but the introduction of fresh legs for us gave the team a boost and after a storming run down the wing by Josh Asiedu he cut the ball back for debutant from the bench Finbar King to cleverly fire home from 10 yards out 2-1 80 mins. Great for Finbar who has had a year out with a bad injury so really pleased for him.
The last ten minutes we defended well and saw the game out for our first league win 2-1. 90 mins
Committees Man of the Match was Reece Mosanya.
