Home vs Harpenden Town

New season saw us welcome Harpenden Town to The Lane in the Herts Charity Shield. A lively game saw our visitors open the scoring after eight minutes when a well worked move on the left saw their winger finish smartly 0-1. That woke us up and we got on the ball a bit more and played our way into the game applying pressure on the visitors defence before a well worked passing move saw Tom Mulqueen set Josh Asiedu for a typical Josh finish, slotted away well 1-1.

A passing move from the back four went right through the thirds and saw Reece Barrett on his debut fire home from just outside the area to put us ahead. 2-1

Another clever Josh finish after half time after good work from Reece Mosanya saw us increase our lead. 3-1.

A fairly late goal around the 86th minute from our visitors saw an uncomfortable end to the game for us. 3-2 However with slightly better finishing from three other good chances in the second half we could have scored more but the positive is we created lots of chances against very good opponents, Harpenden threw everything at us to get an equaliser but we held out and progress to the next round. Full Time 3-2.
