Another strong start at Baldock Town saw us dominate the early parts of the game and after Ibs should have scored but tried an audacious chip, a few minutes later he slid the ball to Reece Mosanya who fired home. 0-1 19 mins gone.
We kept creating chances and a clever lobbed pass over the centre half saw Ibs Kehinde smash the ball home 0-2 25 mins gone.
We dominated the rest of the half and whilst the hosts looked dangerous on the break they didn’t really trouble Carlos in our goal. 0-2 half time.
Baldock started the second half very strongly but our defence were equal to them until a mishit clearance flew into the air bounced up and hit Reiss Webber on the hand just inside the penalty area, there was no movement of his hand towards the ball but Referee gave a penalty slotted home by the Baldock Town centre forward. 1-2 65 mins gone.
Huge credit to Baldock they kept pushing for an equaliser with one stunning full stretch save from Carlos preventing one but we looked very dangerous on the break.
Our super sub Finbar King once again ran onto a through ball and smashed the ball home, 2 in 2 for him from the bench. 1-3 78 mins.
Inexplicably a Baldock Town player then seemed to get booked twice for two fouls in one passage of play and was red carded followed by their manager being red carded for pointing aggressively we are told! Once the football started again Josh Asiedu stole the ball from their centre half and was bundled over outside the penalty area, another red card as last man and subsequent free kick from Connor Scully was more of a danger to low flying aircraft than the goal. We saw the game out and all in all a very strong performance on a very hot day when the players kept their cool and managed the game really well for a thoroughly deserved second win in five days. 1-3 90 min.
Great to see so many travelling fans make the journey to Arlesey.
Colney Heath away on Tuesday next up for us.
